In Tractorscope, the core concepts are the account, users, groups, databases, dashboards, charts, filters, shared views, embeds, API keys, alerts, and reports that structure how analytics are managed and delivered.
This page defines the main objects you will see in Tractorscope.
Account
An account is the workspace for a company or team. Databases, dashboards, users, groups, API keys, color palettes, domains, and billing settings belong to an account.
User
A user is a person who can log in to Tractorscope. Users may belong to one or more accounts. Account access is managed through invitations, groups, and account settings.
Group
A group is a collection of users with shared dashboard permissions. Groups make it easier to control who can view or edit dashboards.
Database
A database connection stores the details Tractorscope needs to query your data. Tractorscope can connect directly, through an SSH tunnel, or through fixed outgoing IPs for firewall allowlisting.
Dashboard
A dashboard is a layout of charts, text, images, and filters. Dashboards can be viewed internally, shared with preset filters, scheduled as email reports, or embedded in another application.
Chart
A chart runs a SQL query against a connected database and displays the result as a visualization. Chart types include bar, line, pie, radar, number, table, map, download, gallery, text, image, and alert.
Filter
A filter lets dashboard viewers change query inputs, such as date range, aggregation period, customer, region, account, or status. Filters can also be passed into shared and embedded dashboard URLs.
Share
A shared dashboard view is a dashboard link with a configured set of available filters and default values. It is useful when different audiences need different views of the same dashboard.
Embed
An embed is a secure way to show a Tractorscope dashboard or chart inside another website or product. Embeds use signed payloads generated with an API key.
API key and domain
API keys sign embed payloads. Allowed domains help control where embedded dashboards and chart web components can run.
Alert and report
An alert checks a query result against a condition and sends notifications. A report sends a dashboard by email on a schedule.
